“Laraib and I have been dear friends since the very first time we connected. She had been following me on Instagram and in Christmas 2018, she reached out to me to ask me deep questions about life – and I fell in love with this deep, wise and exquisite young lady. We maintained a friendship and deep bond over the years.

Then, in early 2021, Laraib had notified me that she was struggling with the funds for the first year of Medical School. After three failed attempts and four intense years of effort to try to get into her chosen degree, she finally passed the entrance exam for the universities.

But on 1^st January, the universities in Pakistan nearly doubled their entrance fees.

This meant that Laraib was now $7,000 short of the funding she needed to pay for the admission fees and the first year of the degree.

I felt strongly inside my heart that I needed to help her to overcome this obstacle.

After seeing and knowing the deep heartache that she endured to reach this stage – and having been alongside her for much of it – it broke my heart to think that money might be the reason she wouldn’t be able to attend and fulfil her dream.

I wrote a post that was shared on my social media platforms. We launched a heartfelt campaign to raise the missing funds for Laraib to embark on her journey to become a doctor. 

In just 3 short days, we raised $7,000 for the cause.

The following week, we transferred the funds to her. One week later, she received an offer to attend medical school at a university across the country. She paid the fees and off she went!

For more than three years, Laraib has been excelling in her studies, often topping her classes or the entire year at university. She is an extremely hard worker and we know that she will make an extraordinary Doctor. Laraib is truly on PURPOSE in her life, and living proof of what we are made of.

In early 2024, my networks and I raised a further $2,700 in 24 hours to provide further support with the funding so Laraib can continue her Medical School studies. Laraib is now studying in 4^th and 5^th year and well on her way to becoming Dr Malik.

Ever since the universe brought her into my life, I felt that I had a duty to take care of her – like God had put her under my wings. It has been and is truly humbling to champion this cause.

I feel I am doing what I was born to do: inspiring and guiding people to be who they were born to be. s
